The Coal Combustion Products (CCP) - System Owner-Sr.Engineer will report to the Operations and Maintenance Regional GM, and is responsible for managing and maintaining CCP (ash basins, ponds, landfills, by-products, water treatment facilities) at active and retired sites to ensure effective operations and mitigation of operational and environmental risks. The CCP Operations System Owner-Sr. Engineer is responsible for work execution processes and oversight in support of the CCP Operating Model principle. This position will support single or multiple sites dependent on number of activities, and will manage day to day operations and maintenance of station CCP ( active and retired sites), cooling ponds/ lakes and water treatment facilities.
Responsibilities include: CCP systems operations and maintenance strategy, oversight of maintenance activities, supporting closure projects, supporting design, execution and commissioning of landfill expansion projects. Providing oversight for CCP inspection programs, by- products management and landfill operations. Assisting in development of annual CCP budgets, maintaining awareness of site costs and providing monthly variance reports to budget.
Performing or leading CCP Site Designated Representative in performance of contractor oversight responsibilities. Ensuring day to day activity is performed in accordance with CCP operating model principles and in conformance with pond(s) / landfill design. Providing contractor feedback, managing such contracts and supporting contract bid events.
Maintaining Emergency Action Plans. Responsible for training and drills of response teams, compensatory measures, the oversight of emergency response contractors, and maintaining response stock piles of supplies and materials. Supporting actual events as designated within the site EAP. Ensuring operational alignment and coordination with operations plant management staff on CCP operations. Maintaining station specific operations and maintenance manuals and procedures. Supporting CCP continuous improvement activities including Cause Analysis and Corrective Action Programs.
Qualifications: Basic Quals:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Geo Tech) from an ABET accredited program or state registration as a Professional Engineer and 5 Years of prior work related experience in addition to a degree.
Preferred Quals:
Master's degree in Engineering (Civil, Geo Tech) from an ABET Accredited (Non Technology) in lieu of B.S. in Engineering
P.E. certification Job: GenerationEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
