Principal Duties and
Responsibilities:
Leadership
This position coordinates projects and will be required to have the ability to manage staff who are technical in different technical disciplines. This position also helps set the trends and direction for Middleware within Service Delivery.
Middleware Software Installation
This position is expected to have experience with the installation and a technical knowledge of all software the middleware group supports.
WebSphere Tuning
Will be called to work on the most difficult performance issues in a complex distributed environment. Advanced experience with Introscope is expected. Extensive knowledge of Java is expected.
WebSphere Experience
Experience with the installation of WebSphere in all of the following environments (Windows, AIX, Solaris, Linux).
Coordinates with other Districts and works with NIRT, other Federal Reserve Banks, and vendors to determine the effect of security vulnerabilities in the Federal Reserve System infrastructure. Business understanding of large Banking institutions and the ability to build business relationships with developers. Communication skills and relationship skills to work with customers at different levels (technical, business, and management). Ability to present technical information to both FRS technicians and business partners.

Position Requirements:
Core requirements include:
6 years of enterprise-level server support experience including the following web technologies (IIS, IHS, GSKit, Websphere Application Server, WebSphere Portal, SAS, Business Object Report Writer, WebSphere Process Server, Cold Fusion).
Knowledge of other Middleware software including messaging technologies (Webspheres MQ, Patrol MQ) is very beneficial. The list above may not be all inclusive due to product standards and vendor support changes.
6 years building and troubleshooting system/application/infrastructure experience.
Proficient PC Skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, SSH and other technical software).
Extensive knowledge of the business of IT (overall view of IT) and Project Management.
Clear, concise and accurate written technical white paper(s) such as Technical Guidelines, operational procedures, manuals, and configuration documentation.
Respond to change in a positive manner and willingness to shift your work or schedule in response to the demands of the situation.
Other/Additional Requirements:
This position works under minimal direction and guidance in planning details of established procedures and methods to attain definite objectives. It has responsibility for planning and performance with guidance or assistance on professional aspects of work. Subject matter handled can be sensitive and requires use of discretion. This position will require weekend and after hour work at times. The person filling the position will be expected to work hours as required. This position also requires the ability to be on call based on business requirements. This position requires the ability to work independently. This position requires the ability to carry a laptop computer home on a daily basis.
Education/
Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field or an equivalent combination of education and job-related work experience equal to 11 years.
