Summary:
Responsible for the evaluation, acquisition, installation/integration, testing and performance monitoring of computer systems software products in support of a multi-client, multi-vendor microcomputer systems software/hardware environment (e.g., PC, workstations, servers and LANs) and for performing software programming. Develops and maintains release management controls and defines standard installation and upgrade methodologies. Directs the integration of software systems with the hardware configuration and the applications systems utilized by the center. Provides technical guidance relating to the operating system to all members of the IT staff. Qualifications: Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline or equivalent direct work related experience. - Three to five years of operating system design support for Windows XP and Windows 7 - Professional work experience with Symantec Ghost software, Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT), WDS (Windows Deployment Services) Windows and Bart PE environment experience - At least 5 years related experience in all aspects of Workstation design and support - Practical experience with systems programming/workstation design. - Working knowledge of systems programming procedures and processes. - Knowledge of desktop imaging processes - Technical leadership experience - Prior work experience in building desktop images
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years working knowledge of Duke Energy IT environment and customer base - Hands on working knowledge of Lenovo and Panasonic hardware, driver software and toolkits - Experience with Citrix Virtual desktop image builds - Working knowledge of Credant Mobile Guardian encryption, as well as Mcafee anti-virus as it relates to image building and the post image configuration processes - Ability to thoroughly document work processes, communicate, and adhere to processes. - Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). - Strong inter-personal skills (listening, conflict management, approachability, negotiations). - Ability to effectively prioritize activities and focus team efforts based-on priority - Ability to research independently, multi-task, and meet deadlines under tight timeframes. - Demonstrated ability to build working relationships with different levels within the organization. - Ability to work effectively in a work plan driven/team environment.
