Job Description
Director level manager and Head of Data Operations.
Operations manager for Client Master On-boarding team, Security Master Team and Change the Bank group responsible for client and security master reference data projects. These teams manage the central master files for client and Securities for the Investment Bank and also have responsibility to ensure the data is also entered and maintained in the downstream transactions and reporting systems. This person would manage a team of 25 employees and have 3 direct reports.
Manage day-to-day operations of client on-boarding and security master teams
Partner with senior operations leadership to recommend strategy for client and product data.
An understanding of the fundamentals of risk, control assessments, protocols
Ensure consistent definitions are used in client and product databases
Analyze and report metrics/data trends utilizing standard statistical methods/tools to determine effectiveness of the teams
Create reporting and presentations for senior level management that are clear, concise with easy to understand graphics depicting status of client and product database efforts
Work with front office and other support groups to implement a more effective client on-boarding process
Develop a global view for customer and product data as client expands operations in Europe and Asia
Work closely with Operational Risk and AML group to improve the quality of client data
Partner with Technology on rollout of Data Services strategic program
Develop deep business process knowledge staying abreast of business and regulatory changes.
Critical Skills:
Enterprise Data Management Data Management background and experience managing enterprise databases
Operational Risk Management - operational risk management background with demonstrated abilities to analyze and assess operational risks.
Capital Markets Business Knowledge - business functions and process knowledge of key operational functional areas
Analytic / Problem Solving Skills methodical, detail oriented mindset and ability to visualize, articulate, and solve both complex problems and evaluate correlation's and synthesize insights
Logical / Critical Thinking - ability to gather and analyze information, design tests and verification procedures to confirm accuracy and strengths of a given control point.
Technical skills - experience leveraging technology to drive automation strategies, manual/automated testing synergies and technical solutions
Client Management skills - ability to partner with senior and operational managers in a collaborative but yet independent manner.
Basic Qualifications
7+ years capital markets industry experience with 3+ years management experience.
Minimum Qualifications
10+ years of financial industry, with a preference towards Capital Markets
5+ years of database management
Prior experience managing client and/or security master data operations at a Financial Services Firm
Prior management of 15 to 30 employees
Participated in industry groups related to reference data
Strong knowledge of risk management and internal control principals
Demonstrated competencies critical to success: Conceptualization, foresight, leadership, resource management and communication
Solid Leadership experience to influence people at a variety of levels internally and externally
Proven experience working with and creating strategy, process, and operational risk guidelines
Proficiency in Microsoft suite of applications (excel, PowerPoint, word)
Preferred Skills
Master s degree
Effective written and verbal communications skills coupled with the ability to effectively communicate and partner with executives from both the Business and IT

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
