Duties: Responsible for providing secretarial support to the Firm Partners, Associates and/or Legal Assistants as needed. Prepares final legal papers and correspondence of legal nature such as summons, complaints, motions, and subpoenas from draft or dictated text. Performs other clerical duties such as providing information to callers, taking dictation, composing and typing routine correspondence, and reading and routing incoming mail. Files correspondence and legal documents in office filing system, opens and closes files, and maintains information on clients. Arranges travel, appointments, conference calls, etc.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
