Chemical Engineer

We are searching for an experienced Chemical Engineer for a client in Charlotte, NC.
This is a full-time direct hire position reporting to the Engineering Manager, VP or Operations, or anyone of like status.
The Chemical Engineer is responsible for the maintenance, care, and efficient operation of all equipment used by the organization with the help of the Maintenance and Engineering Departments.
You will identify, develop, and implement improvements to constantly improve site safety, process capability and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standards JOB DUTIES:
Follow and support all site safety guidelines and initiatives.
Promote and nurture plant's safety culture.
Analyze manufacturing process flows continually for the enhancements of quality, reliability, cycle time, cost reduction, and yield.
Investigate production quality issues to identify root cause and implement appropriate corrective actions.
Work with the production group to identify and implement process improvements in areas such as material movements, logistics, and workflow.
Assist with the design, construction and start-up of new or improved production equipment.
Lead the implementation of small capital projects related to process improvement.
Support production department to trouble shoot and resolve technical problems.
Work closely with manufacturing department to develop, coordinate, and implement technical training for employees.
Participate in investigations to assist in determining root causes.
Assist in product scale up and new product introduction in the manufacturing unit.
Act as manufacturing lead in MOC program working closely with QA to ensure program remains dynamic and delays on the production and engineering side are minimized.
Owns the P&ID's in the plant and ensures their accuracy and timely update as changes in the field are implemented.
Develop/Modify and train on SOP's needed for introducing new or modifying existing process equipment or processes in the facility.
Responsible for administration of the OSHA PSM program to ensure compliance.
EDUCATION &
Experience:
10-15 years' experience as a chemical engineer preferably in production/process area of specialty chemical products.
Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering 3 - 5 years' experience as a Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineer preferably in production/process area of specialty chemical products Experience with large scale organic synthesis including:
Esterification/Transesterification/Polyesterification Amidation/Transamidation Quaternization/Betaineization Post-Reaction Processes including:
Adsorption Neutralization Washing Distillation Steam Stripping (Deodorization) Filtration Experience in Rockwell Automation or other appropriate PLC experience.
Internship in related field highly desired.
Experience using databases such as FoxPro or Oracle highly desired.
Experience with batch processing Experience with continuous improvement Experience in Process Safety Management (PSM) REQUIRED SKILLS :
Basic understanding of ISO-9000.
Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems Knowledge of OSHA and other environmental regulations Knowledge of general maintenance methods, operating requirements, and safety precautions related to Senior management Must be a well-organized, detail and customer (internal and external) oriented self-starter Excellent verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
Excellent analytical skills Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Efficient time management skills.
Ability to read and understand manuals and maintain proper records.
Ability to collaborate with others and work independently Ability to identify key details Located partially in an office and partially in a chemical plant, maintenance, shipping, or laboratory environment.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
