Albemarle leads the world in transforming essential resources into critical ingredients for mobility, energy, connectivity, and healthFrom our strength in Bromine and Lithium specialties, we partner with customers to pioneer new ways to move, power, connect and protect with people and planet in mindAs a values-driven company, we understand it is no longer enough to build things better, stronger and fasterWe have to be cleaner, safer and smarterThrough the world's most diverse and reliable supply chain, we adapt, manage and utilize our world's most essential resources to create the greatest value out of every moleculeBecause to help lead the way in progressing modern living, we have also to lead the way in safe and responsible operationsBased in Charlotte, North Carolina, Albemarle employs approximately 8,200 people and serves customers in approximately 100 countriesWe are committed to building a more resilient worldThe Role To support our continued growth and transformation, Albemarle is seeking a strategic, innovative and results-oriented Vice President of Enterprise Communications to shape, articulate and strengthen the company image, reputation and brand across all stakeholder communitiesThe VP, Enterprise Communications will be viewed as a strategic business partner for executive leaders across the global enterprise and provide connectivity and integration for Albemarle's communications communityThis individual will lead the strategy for all internal and external communications, including media relations, brand management, employee communications, executive communications, company reputation management and digital communications, and also partner closely with investor relations and external affairsThis leader will create opportunities to enhance the company's executive and employee communications channels and processes to support business transformation and employee engagement goalsThe VP, Enterprise Communications will report to the SVP, Chief External Affairs and Communications Officer and be based at our company headquarters in Charlotte, North CarolinaThis role will sit on the External Affairs Leadership TeamKey Responsibilities Formulate global communications objectives that align with Albemarle's vision, mission and goalsBuild the company image and reputation with all stakeholdersStrengthen and enhance company mission around the world to pioneer new ways to move, power, connect and protect with people and planet in mind for our customersEnhance the company's communications channels and processes to support business transformation and employee engagement objectivesEstablish and foster relationships with media/pressDevelop strategic media relations plans that target the right outlets to reach the right audiencesPartner with Investor Relations to ensure consistency of external messaging and to help advance our brand/reputation with analysts and investorsPartner closely with the External Affairs leaders across the enterprise to understand government relations and regulatory issues and opportunities as well as community relations priorities and issue advocacyEnsure cohesive support for the broader issue advocacy agenda as appropriateEngage and develop a world-class team of communications professionals globallyLead the Communications Leadership Team across global business units (GBUs) and regions and ensure global alignment in strategy and executionManage the enterprise branding strategy and execution functionsProvide strategic leadership to the global function, including organization development and process improvement, to achieve world class capability and functional excellenceCandidate Profile The successful candidate will have demonstrated world-class skills and leadership in a global communications function in a global, progressive enterprise, preferably with multiple business units and profit centers, ideally within another global manufacturing environmentAlbemarle seeks an outstanding leader with excellent communications skills and a broad background with a foundation in communications and public affairsThis individual will be experienced in leading all parts of internal and external communications, including media relations, brand management, employee communications, executive communications, company reputation management and digital communicationsSeen as a strategic business partner, this key leader must demonstrate strong connectivity to Albemarle's business strategy and exhibit deep consulting skills and influence across the enterpriseOther key qualifications include:
Deep enterprise-wide experience leading a global communications function for a global, progressive organizationImpeccable communication skills and the innate ability to operate as a highly effective company spokespersonExcellent writing skills evidenced by the ability to craft messages for all audiences (investors, customers, employees, community, public officials, etc.
