62 Position Summary Library Human Resources Assistant will contribute to various aspects of Human Resources, making a significant impact on talent acquisition, onboarding, employee records, employee relations, regulatory reporting, and more.
As a valued member of our Library Human Resources team, you'll provide comprehensive support to all library employees, ensuring adherence to our activities, policies, processes, and procedures.
Essential Functions Essential Functions oServes as the initial point of contact for the Human Resources department, providing prompt assistance and guidance to employees.
oHandles routine employee relations and human resource inquiries regarding policies and procedures and escalates complex issues to the appropriate HR staff.
oRepresents the HR department in responding to and attending unemployment hearings.
oCompiles necessary information to initiate workers' compensation claims for employees and collaborates with the insurance carrier.
oAssists in conducting biweekly new hire orientations, ensuring compliance with I-9 verification and providing an overview of benefits.
oAssist with benefits communication and enrollment activities in collaboration with Mecklenburg County partners.
oSupports the coordination of recruitment efforts in partnership with Mecklenburg County partners.
oProvides comprehensive administrative support to the library's HR function, including record-keeping, file maintenance, and generating HRIS reports and queries as needed Minimum Qualifications
Experience:
Four years of professional human resource administration or related experience Education:
Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
