We are a family & elder law firm with 14 locations across North Carolina and South Carolina.
We are currently looking for a hardworking, detail-oriented Attorney to assist in handling the greater Charlotte, NC, area for estates, trusts, wills, and elder law cases.
This is a rapidly growing practice area within our Firm, and we are seeking a professional who wants to contribute to this growth over time.
Attorneys will be mentored by a senior Certified Elder Law Attorney with many years of experience and collaborate with a team of other elder law attorneys and paralegals across the Firm.

Responsibilities:
o Draft documents, review laws and statutes, and meet with clients to finalize plans for their future.
o Host consultation meetings to meet with potential clientele and outline the services and level of expertise our firm can provide, as well as a suggested legal course of action for each individual's unique needs.
o Provide an unparalleled client experience so that each customer of the Firm knows they are a priority for you and our team at CFELG.
Engage in frequent contact with all clients and work hand-in-hand with our Client Experience team to provide a concierge level of service.
o Help effectively solve legal problems for clients by analyzing the situation, understanding their needs, and creating a strategic plan of action.
o Set boundaries for clients when needed to ensure the firm is profitable and our attorneys are protected from potential liability.
o Track time effectively and efficiently on both hourly billable and flat fee matters.
o This position will be based primarily in our Dilworth/Charlotte office and may require travel to Monroe, NC and Weddington, NC at times.
Qualifications:
o Preferably you will have at least seven (7)
years of experience practicing elder law.
Attorneys licensed in both NC and SC are preferred, but NC licensing is required.
CELA certification is a plus.
o The ideal candidate has experience with estate planning, estate, and trust administrations, Medicaid planning, and long-term care benefits.
Litigation experience is a plus for guardianship and estate litigation cases.
o Experience with billing and keeping track of billable time on cases.
o Great negotiation and communication skills, particularly in stressful and emotional situations.
o You need to be detail-oriented and willing to go the extra mile.

You will be working with other attorneys and staff and both you and our other staff members are accountable to each other.
Clients benefit from a strong team approach.
o You need to be able to talk to people in a manner that is polite, educated, and puts them at ease.
You cannot talk down to anyone that you deal with in our office.
You should not be a person who gets angry quickly if someone says something you don't like.
You need to have compassion when dealing with our clients, as many are going through difficult times or require extra patience.
o At times, you will also need to know how to figure things out on your own and be able to creatively problem-solve and come up with workable solutions.
o With regard to compensation, the base salary is based on experience.
It is also subject to periodic reviews and raises which are based on job performance.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
