Job Description Global New Business Development Leader The Global New Business Development Leader is responsible for supporting the creation and evaluation of new product ideas and subsequent development of innovative products within the Specialties business unit.
This individual will be a thought leader and have the opportunity to deliver impactful results and shape the future of our business unit growth strategy.
The role requires significant envisioning of potential value for new products and will assist in the development of business cases and value propositions to justify projects.
A key contribution of this evaluation will be creating comprehensive market analyses and sound economic models that will provide the foundation for business decisions.
The Global New Business Development Leader will implement successful product development strategies while working collaboratively with research & development personnel, engineering teams, and product managers.
The Global New Business Development Leader will develop and administer plans and schedules for cross-functional teams and prioritize activities that lead to decision points throughout the new product development cycle.
The Global New Business Development Leader will also engage with customers, potential customers, and relevant stakeholders to gather customer preferences during new product development.
The candidate should have a proven track record of performing early-stage research and commercializing new products.
The role requires creative thinking, influencing peers, and deciphering market needs in various markets.
The candidate will leverage exceptional communication skills for interacting with both internal and external stakeholders.
This position report to the Director of New Business Development and is located at our headquarters in Charlotte, NC.
Essential Functions Support new product development processes from the development of new ideas through commercialization.
Perform secondary market research and analysis while also utilizing primary research to identify new market opportunities.
Create analytical models to define business cases and value propositions for conceptual and emerging new products.
Analyze market data and develops recommendations from imperfect / incomplete data sets.
Support product commercialization efforts by participating and directing new product blueprinting projects with potential customers.
Closely collaborate, work, and lead cross-department teams and business groups, such as engineering, R&D, outside partners, and finance to drive and develop new products that meet company metrics.
Monitor external and internal environment for development of new market segments.
Identify trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements.
Monitor competitors and reviews Albemarle's products and services in light of competitors developments.
Required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in engineering or sciences.

years of experience in strategy, growth, business development, new product development, or innovation.
Significant experience in secondary and primary market research techniques Accomplished at developing value propositions and economic models for emerging technologies.
Proactive, self-starter with willingness to take ownership and responsibility.
Ability to work in a team environment Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Strong project management skills Preferred Education and Experience Advanced degree from an accredited university in engineering or sciences Prior experience in a commercial or marketing role supporting new product development and launch activities Exposure to advanced market research tools Fundamental understanding of intellectual property (trade secret & patent specifically) and IP agreements (JDAs, licensing, etc) Choose to unlock your full POTENTIAL.
