Renaissance West Community Initiative - Program Officer for Workforce Development

The Renaissance West Community Initiative (RWCI) Program Officer for Workforce Development (PO-WD) will develop and manage the implementation of a comprehensive continuum of programs and services that support the community revitalization of a neighborhood in west Charlotte.
The RWCI PO-WD will work closely with the Community Engagement Manager and Life Navigator for Workforce Development in support of the community engagement strategy to improve resident skills and acquisition of jobs that provide family-sustaining incomes.
The actions of the PO-WD will complement the organization's program continuum in support of the mission, vision and implementation model of RWCI.
Position DescriptionThe Program Officer for Workforce Development will report to the Chief Impact Officer (CIO) and will be responsible for successful program implementation for RWCI by helping to ensure residents have access to a seamless continuum of programs and services.
The Program Officer will make a significant contribution to the vibrancy of a small, relatively new organization by also supporting the overall operational success of the organization.
The Program Officer will:
Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and program participants to assure all community/family workforce and career development needs are met Work with stakeholders to conduct ongoing needs assessments, job shadowing, skills training, college and career fair, financial literacy, career pipeline and career self-assessments for teens and adults.
Ensure community partners implement research-informed programs, including pre- and post-workshop student assessments Align services/programs for maximum impact - assure programs are needed, conveniently delivered, and well attended, according to feedback from stakeholders.
Assist with developing and implementing strategies that maximize the synergies among programs, including facilitation of a Partner Advisory Council Facilitate effective communication with and among all RWCI programs Ensure accountability of programs and services Assist with developing, monitoring, and reporting on program outputs and outcomes - minimally via a quarterly report to the CIO Provide needed logistical support to program partners to ensure smooth operation of program offerings Maintain detailed records/databases on program activities Support operational activities of the organization as needed Support Fund Development activities of the organization as needed, with emphasis on securing resources to support programmatic activities Other duties as assigned QualificationsCommunity partnership and program knowledge to develop and maintain a continuum of programs, specifically for workforce and career development, is a must.
Ability to work collaboratively across stakeholder groups to achieve an ambitious set of goals.
BA in a related field, MA, MS, or MBA or equivalent experience preferred At least 5 years of experience working in community settings Ability to build rapport with community residents and other stakeholder groups Experience developing and implementing community, continuing education, and workforce development programs Experience implementing neighborhood-level community engagement strategies Project management experience with multi-faceted projects resulting in measurable successes Experience in a high-performance, collaborative, constructive peer group Experience in a complex work environment Experience successfully negotiating agreements across multiple stakeholder groups Excellent verbal and written communication skills Attention to detail Ability to work in fast-paced environments and in balancing competing priorities Able to work evenings and weekends, as needed Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to and passion for Renaissance West Community Initiative's mission Intermediate to Advanced technical skill, high level proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook The statements contained herein reflect the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
