SSC has an immediate job opportunity for an ARMED SECURITY OFFICERS.

Strategic Security Armed Security Officer positions afford applicants job security and the ability to experience different aspects of policing.
RESPONSIBILITIES Provide security services to our clients by carrying out safety and police procedures, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem solving manner.
Conduct regular and random patrols in and around the schools and perimeter.
Monitoring cameras and alarms.
Coverage of all designated security posts; Conducting foot and vehicle security patrols; Identification, investigation and documentation of safety and security events; Monitoring security systems, including surveillance systems and mobile applications; Reporting any safety or security incidents that occur outside of the transportation property to the proper authorities; Assisting, reporting and cooperating with local police department regarding any crime involving a victim, a weapon, or felony possession of a controlled substance; Providing information and reports to local police department and any other law enforcement agency for Reported Crimes so the proper follow-up can be completed; Retaining control of all property as directed by the transportation agency in consultation with local police department; Fare Inspections, to include but not be limited to:
Enforcing the transportation agency's Fare Policy and providing fare inspections; Conducting fare inspections and fare blitz's with Armed/Unarmed Security Guards (Fare Inspectors) and Police Officers on the light rail system to ensure customers have valid fare media (ticket or transfer) while riding the train, Streetcar, or when standing within designated fare zones Conducting fare inspections on buses at the transportation property facilities such as Transportation Centers, Parking Garages and Park-and-Ride facilities along the alignment.
Conducting fare enforcement duties in accordance with specific policies and procedures that ensure enforcement IS ALWAYS conducted in a fair and impartial manner; Conducting inspections to achieve or exceed the transportation property Ridership Inspection rates and Fare Evasion goals, when established; Issuing appropriate warnings/citations for fare violations and for transit related offenses and maintaining records of all instances of no-ticket or invalid-ticket for reporting purposes; Tracking and documenting detailed reports/data of Fare Enforcement daily activities to track trends and ensure compliance with the transportation agency's policies; Testifying in court hearings or depositions as a witness in relation to fare enforcement activity; and Participating in regular training to ensure proficiency in current Fare Enforcement policy/procedures and tactics; Act as Ambassadors for the transportation agency by becoming familiar with the rail and bus systems to aid riders and the general public to provide quality customer service.
Performing any additional law enforcement duties based on the level of training as assigned by the transportation agency Project Manager ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain all applicable licensing.

QUALIFICATIONS Previous Contract Security, facilities management, military or law enforcement experience Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills required.

You must have an honorable discharge from the military (if applicable).
Display exceptional customer service and communication skills.
Have intermediate computer skills to operate innovative, wireless technology at client specific sites.
Ability to handle crisis situations by using state authorized De-escalation tactics at the job site.
Perform all State and local general law enforcement duties; Including patrolling contracted property, conducting building and room searches, issue state citations, conduct investigations, respond to medical calls, preserve all evidence, and make arrest.
Attend required periodic training sessions and seminars, maintain required level of proficiency in the use of firearms and or a taser.
Work in various environments such as cold weather, rain/snow or heat.
Occasionally lift or carry up to 40 pounds.
Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift.
Stand or walk on various surfaces for long periods of time.
Pass the North Carolina Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) Police Officer Physical Abilities Test (POPAT) consisting of but not limited to:

5 mile timed run, specified number of push ups in a minute, specified number of sit up in a minute, 300 meter sprint, step test, etc.
