Associate Project Restoration Engineer

About the opportunity SWCA is seeking an Associate Project Restoration Engineer to work in either our Charlotte office, Raleigh office, or as a distributed employee in NC or SC. Our ecological restoration group is growing and in need of a design engineer to assist with stream, wetland, and tidal marsh restoration as well as water quality treatment retrofits, and coastal/living shoreline design projects. Projects will include sites in North Carolina, Virginia, South Carolina and support of other projects across the U.S. The successful candidate must have a strong skill set in hydraulics, hydrology, and AutoCAD Civil 3D a as well as a working knowledge of GIS principles. This position is a Regular, Full Time Salaried position. What you will accomplish Participate in the engineering design, reporting, and development of construction plans for the above listed project types. Participate in field work to assess existing site conditions, assess reference reach sites, and perform geomorphic surveys. Develop construction plans within the AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation platforms. Perform hydraulic, hydrologic, and water quality assessments, modeling, and analysis in support of the above listed projects. Communicate and work with project managers to keep projects on schedule and on budget. Attend and participate in annual internal design training meetings to support personal-skills growth and career planning. Work independently and multi-task regularly in a fast-paced environment; work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Experience and qualifications for success Bachelor's degree in engineering (civil, environmental, or coastal engineering) Minimum of 5 years of experience in ecosystem design E.I. certification (Engineer Intern) Experience with HEC-RAS and other hydraulic and hydrologic modeling and analysis software Experience developing ecological restoration design construction plans in AutoCAD Civil 3D Preferred

Ability to travel on short-term overnight efforts to collect field data and meet with clients. Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
