Project Manager

Job Summary Black & Veatch is seeking a highly motivated person to function as a Project Manager for assigned clients and in this role establish and/or maintain relationships with our existing and prospective clients, develop new business, and provide oversight of projects and engineering managers. The Project Manager will work collaboratively with our North Carolina based execution team, our regional business leaders and Black & Veatch's technical business lines supporting overall strategy and growth. Leadership position focusing on significant business growth in North Carolina and surrounding geographies working collaboratively with the East Region management team by developing new and existing clients, recruiting new professionals, retaining and rewarding the top professionals in the markets we serve, mentoring and coaching existing professionals, capturing an industry-leading market share of various Water work and achieving these objectives while providing start to finish project responsibility to our clients from pursuit through execution and final delivery. Manages all aspects of small Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) Service projects, including risk to cost, schedule, quality. Responsible for the day-to-day successful execution of contracted engineering, procurement, and construction scope in the areas of performance, financial metrics, planning, schedule, quality, contractual compliance, safety, and client satisfaction. Provides for the successful staffing of the project. Manages and leads small teams of multi-discipline professionals. Coordinates and integrates the activities associated with the engineering, procurement, construction, and startup elements of the project team, including the activities of all third party companies contributing to the initiative. #LI-JJ1 Key Responsibilities Responsibilities for business development activities include leading team efforts for marketing, strategy development, prospect identification, proposal development, proposal preparation, client presentations, project budgeting and contracting for successful opportunities. Accountable for new business objectives and for overall project performance. Responsibilities for project management include an external focus to interact with assigned clients, become involved in client activities and promote Black & Veatch through client and community activities. Support development of the overall market business plan, market strategies, client engagement strategies and leverage other Black & Veatch technical and management resources to advance Black & Veatch's market footprint. Responsibilities for project execution include oversight of engineering manager(s); the development of project performance goals; accountability for implementation; active involvement with internal project team and owner project representatives on project activities; perform or assist with the performance and commercial management of projects including budgeting, invoicing, and payments; lead project performance reviews for assigned project(s). Responsibilities for staff management include; team development, mentoring and coaching on performance improvement, recommendations for training and promotion of assigned professionals as well as identification and development of new candidates to expand the Black & Veatch team. Preferred Qualifications 15 or more years of active water/ww engineering experience with demonstrated PM and business development experience in the NC market PE required; Bachelor's Degree in technical discipline; Master's Degree desirable. Proven technical understanding of Wastewater and Water markets, including drivers and general trends. Strong sales traits, including tenacity, and competitiveness. Overall people skills, task oriented to focus on winning new business and achieving sales targets. Adept at work in a team environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, inter-personal skills, presentations skills. Ability to interface with diverse personalities. Ability to think strategically and create persuasive message. Contract negotiating skills which includes knowledge of terms, risks, pricing, and payment terms. Expert ability to sell, strong negotiating and persuasive skills. Understanding of budgets and financial metrics. Self-starter and ability to make decisions independently. Ability to meet deadlines and be flexible to multiple demands of project teams and shifting priorities. Problem solving and leadership skills. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor of science degree. Work Environment/Physical Demands Typical office environment, typical construction environment, extreme weather conditions, high noise level, safety hazards (electric currents, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to chemicals), atmospheric conditions (fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, poor ventilation). Sitting, walking, talking, hearing, reading, writing, keyboarding, driving, filing, reaching, stooping, crouching, bending, standing for extended periods of time, lifting or carrying up to 40 pounds.
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
