Help Desk Support Technician (remote with travel)

Akkodis is seeking a Help Desk Support Technician (Remote-First, but occasional travel will be required) for a contract-to-hire position with a client located in Watkinsville, GA.
We are looking for someone with 3
years of experience in a help desk or similar roles where they have experience in installing and troubleshooting hardware, software, and peripherals.
It would be great to have someone who has experience with POS Stations.
This position is a remote-first position but may require emergency travel to different client sites.
Our first site is in Watkinsville, GA.
The Pay Range is $25 -$34 an hour, depending on relevant experience, and it is based on a W2 Contract to hire.

Responsibilities:
Respond promptly to inquiries from the triage team, who receive messages from store owners and managers regarding technical issues.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to overcharging, software errors, shelving sensors, and digital AI cameras.
Collaborate with retail personnel to identify and diagnose problems accurately.
Utilize your IT background to comprehend software operating systems (OS) and connectivity.
Demonstrate knowledge of cabling and connectivity, including ethernet lines, wirelines, and wireless setups.
Note some travel will be required for this role; as retail systems expand, the Remote HD Support team may need to travel to sites if the issues cannot be resolved remotely.
Participate in a comprehensive 3-week remote training program covering software (SW), POS systems, and hardware.
Qualifications:
AA or AS Degree in Computer Technology or IT or relevant degree preferred.
3
years of relevant experience.
A foundational understanding of software operating systems and IT connectivity.
Familiarity with troubleshooting software-related issues.
While prior Help Desk experience is beneficial, any proven track record of dealing with external customers will be considered.
Excellent communication skills and a customer-centric approach.
Team Player - This is a start-up environment.
Location:
The role is remote, but proximity to the designated area is advantageous for emergency on-site travel.
Candidates in proximity to Watkinsville, GA will be prioritized.
