Responsibilities Under general supervision, the Instructional Support Specialist assists faculty and staff with the development of assignments, courses, and learning scenariosThe Instructional Support Specialist reports to the Director of the Center of Innovative Teaching and LearningSPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Assist faculty and subject matter experts (SMEs) in the development of courses in all modalities (campus and online); present programs, conduct faculty training, and help the academic programs implement new technologies and approaches for learningAssist in the creation, implementation, and management of a curriculum of teaching-related professional development opportunities for learning strategies, pedagogies, experiential learning, assessment and research including but not limited to faculty learning communities, workshops, short courses, institutes, and trainingsProvide training, technical assistance, best practices and support to enable the effective use of the teaching and learning tools, online resources, and technology by facultyProvide pedagogical support and basic troubleshooting and field basic questions related to the learning management system, and other instructional technologies supported by the Office of Teaching and LearningServe as a liaison and represent the CITL by providing expertise to campus-wide teaching and learning initiatives and participating in collaborations that intersect with the work and promotion of JCSU CITLProvide support to faculty and teaching staff developing or implementing Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SOTL) projects and/or writingConduct evaluations to identify areas for improvement and to assure CITL programming are effective and reflective of university/unit strategic plansPrepare and maintain records, statistical data, and assessment reports relative to the Center of Innovative Teaching and LearningManage work-study and student employees working on projects, research experiences and experiential learningQualifications A Master's Degree and/or experience supporting faculty in a higher education settingKnowledge of learning theories, models and best practices of teaching, learningDemonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively across disciplines with administrators, faculty and studentsExcellent project development and management skillsThis position requires a positive, self-motivated person with excellent interpersonal communication skills, eager to work in an environment that requires strong emphasis on providing superior support to faculty, students, staff, and community members conforming to the University's mission and valuesSupplemental Information To apply, please include a cover letter, resume, and contact information for three supervisory references including the most recent supervisorFinalists for this position are subject to a background checkEmployment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background investigation including criminal history and identity check.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
