Summary:
The Compliance Assistant is a full-time position (37.
5 hours/week), benefits-eligible position.
The Compliance Assistant will provide support to the entire compliance staff.
Primary duties will be supporting with rules education and monitoring of NCAA rules compliance.
The Compliance Assistant will gain exposure to Division I compliance areas by assisting with:
personnel, amateurism, recruiting, financial aid, awards and benefits, playing and practice seasons, and initial and continuing eligibility.
The Compliance Assistant reports to the Associate Athletic Director of Compliance and Director of Compliance.
This position is not exempt from provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is eligible to earn overtime pay or compensatory time off for additional hours worked.
This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include Respond quickly and appropriately to violations of rules, regulation policies and procedures by evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigative Monitor prospective student-athlete recruitment including, but not limited to, phone calls, text messaging, social media, contacts, official and unofficial visits, and tryouts Monitor the student athletes' countable athletically-related activities Draft educational material for coaches, staff, and student-athletes Manage and update the Compliance office's social media sites and compliance newsletter Create timely and informative social media posts while maintaining regulatory requirements Assist with yearly compliance audits Update student-athlete information in NCAA Database, monitor and ensure all student-athlete information is current in the NCAA transfer portal Non-Essential Duties Other duties and special projects may be assigned to meet department and University needs Experience, Knowledge & Skills Required Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to interact well with multiple constituencies (coaches, staff, student athletes, public) in person and virtually Proven attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness Excellent organizational and follow-up / follow-through skills to ensure timely completion of assignments Keen attention to detail, ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines; strong follow-up and follow- through to completion skills Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze components and arrive at a logical course of action while knowing when to ask for assistance or direction Ability to effectively prioritize multiple competing tasks and demands High level of energy and initiative, and willing and able to work with minimal supervision while contributing positively to a cooperative, high-functioning Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality of privileged information and perform duties that require tact, independent judgment, diplomacy, and Proficiency and advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and SharePoint required A bachelor's degree and working knowledge of NCAA regulations or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
