Overview of Position:
Senior Director - Quality & Food Safety- is responsible for the Global Quality & Food Safety function.
Specific responsibilities include documenting, regulating and upholding our quality functions from a quality control and audit function, regulatory.
This position will be responsible for the over strategy and quality standards for our equity markets and international franchisees, suppliers qualification programs and 3rd party quality & food safety standards.
Develop and implement food safety standards, policies and programs to include HACCP, training programs for standard operating procedures for Shops, doughnut factories and international business.
Principal Duties and
Responsibilities:
Oversee all quality control functions regarding product manufacturing, i.
e.
any activity that affects flavor profile or product behavior Document and maintain all SOPs, quality assurance and safety procedures; ensure procedures are followed and documented per the policies Conduct audits for company and vendor plants to ensure specifications meet Krispy Kreme guidelines and standards Implement standards for third party partners Measure, analyze and report supplier quality performance against quality standards through specification compliance, complaints, defect rates and other applicable performance measures.
Provide guidance and leadership where deviations have occurred, or a potential risk has been identified related to food safety and quality attributes.
Partner with Operations team on quality assurance, quality control and safety issues Direct regulatory and crisis/special situation management programs related to QA/QC and food safety Manage food industry matters which affect nutritional, food safety, and regulatory compliance Oversee all ingredient specifications and approvals whether purchased or manufactured Coordinate with the Equipment Department to ensure all equipment research and development complies with Krispy Kreme standards Recruit and develop all research and development and laboratory services staff Manage departmental budget and capital expenditures Other duties as assignedEssential skills and
Experience:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Science and Technology or related discipline Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills Comprehensive knowledge of HACCP, GMP's and GAP's Must have the ability to interact and partner closely with other corporate departments Strong research and development skills Knowledge of raw material and ingredient functionality Must have at least 8-10 years of experience in a QA/QC function Background in a lean manufacturing a plus Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills All positions must pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background checkNonessential skills and
