Position Description:
Senior Financial Analyst role within Credit Reporting & Allowance team supporting Allowance for Credit Losses and credit risk reporting. Role includes:
Prepare monthly and quarterly credit risk reporting of key metrics for management reporting as well as regulatory and SEC filings. Reporting includes research and analysis of key consumer and commercial data comprised of loans, delinquencies, nonperforming, net credit losses and criticized balances.
Prepare and accumulate quarterly documentation that supports Allowance for Credit Losses and documents contemporaneosly managements' decisions and judgments.
Research and conclude on accounting issues related to ACL, loans and disclosures.
Assist with coordination with Accounting Policy, SEC Reporting, other CCR&A teams and business partners in Consumer Real Estate, Card, and Commercial to ensure compliance with accounting principles and disclosure requirements.
Assist in identifying and addressing accounting (US GAAP and Regulatory interpretations thereof), business, market, environmental, and regulatory changes that impact the Allowance methodology.
Additional opportunity to collaborate and build skill on Allowance projects utilizing various quantitative methodologies (SAS, SQL, Monte Carlo simulations and other statistical tools).
Other key facets of the role include:
Collaborate with business and risk organizations to leverage analytics already produced to support ACL.
Identify emerging requirements that impact the ACL methodology
Coordinate with the BASEL III team to analyze the ACL and the Expected Credit Loss.
Prepare proper documentation of methodology changes.
Respond to Auditor and Regulator requests, providing necessary support.
Enterprise Role Overview:
Responsible for more complex finance activities involving implementation of strategic plans, profitability analysis, forecasting and financial reporting for a business unit or associate area. Supports achievement of business goals by working on more complex activities or projects with others within the unit and with partners. Leads projects and coordinates resources. May provide supervision to a small staff. Can manage partner relationships.
Required Skills:
Bachelors or Masters Degree in Business (preferably Accounting, would also consider Finance)
5 or more years of experience in Accounting (preferably in Banking or Financial Services)
Technical accounting (US GAAP) background
Strong Excel skills
Experience in a reporting role (SEC, Reg Reporting or in a Controller's group)
Detail oriented, ensuring accurate and high quality analyses, disclosures and workpapers
Excellent written communication needed to draft Financial Statement footnotes, SEC Disclosures, prepare documentation necessary for compliance with SOX, SAB 102 and other regulatory rules
Strong communicator such that candidate can discuss accounting policies and coordinate integration of accounting standards into methodologies
Desired Skills:
Certified Public Accountant
Excellent computer/software skills (possibly including SAS, SQL Programming ability)
